Originally, in the scene near the top of EP07 where Soo-ho confirms with Ms Pi that Young-ro is the ANSP director’s daughter (and Ms Pi attempts to leverage his guilt), there was a flashback scene intercut with her dialogue. In it, we learn that Young-ro had, in fact, been offered a chance to remain in the dormitory ... at the price of selling Soo-ho out. And, of course, had chosen instead to accept her punishment and protect him to the last.
I understand that, in a sense, the scene is redundant — we know, even without seeing it, that Young-ro would never have given him up — but the dialogue provides Soo-ho with more insight into Young-ro’s personal situation and lets him know just how much she gave up to protect him. Also, Yoon Se-ah is fantastic in all of her scenes, so it’s a shame we missed out on this one.

Scene 10
2F Lounge
Ms Pi
She had said that she’d take sole responsibility, that her Room 207 roommates had done nothing wrong, and ... three nights ago she sought me out without anyone knowing.
Scene 11
1F Hall Director’s Administrative Office (Pre-EP04 Scene 52) (FB)
Ms Pi sits at her desk, calmly reading a book (Christa Wolf’s Der geteilte Himmel). In front of her kneels a pleading Young-ro. (same outfit as in EP04 Scene 52)
Young-ro
Seonsaeng-nim, I truly, really, reaaally don’t want to part with Seol-hee and my eonnies. The dorm truly feels like my home now, so I really don’t want to leave. Just once, just once, couldn’t you forgive me?
Ms Pi
(just continues reading her book)
Young-ro
(even more desperately) In exchange, I’ll gladly accept any punishment. Please, please-please forgive me just once. If I leave the dorm, I haven’t got anywhere to go!!!
Ms Pi
(closes her book with a snap) You’ve nowhere to go? (stands abruptly) You dare lie in front of me? The ANSP director’s daughter has nowhere to go???
Young-ro
(heart sinks) !!!
Ms Pi
Do you have any idea how much the ANSP have harassed me since the day you moved in??
Young-ro
(so genuinely upset she bursts into tears) ... I didn’t know. I truly didn’t know that things would be this way even at uni. All while I was attending school the ANSP kept tabs on who I was associating with and as a result ... my friends stayed away from me!
Ms Pi
(had never occurred to her)
Young-ro
Coming to uni, I made friends for the first time ... and was able to lead a school life that wasn’t lonely and yet ...
Ms Pi
(that’s unexpected)
Young-ro
(crying) My mother passed away and I’ve lived with my maternal grandmother ever since then, so ... I truly would sooner die than go to the house in Seoul. If I go back there ... both my stepmother and my father will be made uncomfortable.
Ms Pi
(to an extent, she feels sorry for her)
Young-ro
Please, just let me live here. Even the attic room would be fine. Even a basement room would be fine. I’ll take all the part-time phone shifts everyone hates to do. You don’t have to give me work scholarship money. Please!!! (looks up at her with tear-filled eyes)
Ms Pi
(sitting in her seat) If you severely reflect upon your misconduct, since it’s not long until end of term ... I will think on an alternative punishment to eviction.
Young-ro
(wiping away her tears, she looks at Ms Pi as though feeling she’s dodged a bullet but)
Ms Pi
In exchange, you’ll have to give up everything you know about the student activist you hid.
Young-ro
(expression darkens)
Ms Pi
Since, that way, I’ll be able to take measures to prevent him from approaching you again.
Young-ro
By that you mean ... that you’ll report him to the police?
Ms Pi
(looking at her like, ‘Why ask the obvious?’)
Young-ro
(hanging her head) I’m sorry. I know full well what will happen to him if they catch him.. I really can’t ... tell you that.
Scene 12
2F Lounge (Present Time)
Ms Pi
She helped you without the slightest suspicion, believing she was doing good. So, not only did she not regret or show remorse for her actions, she came forward saying she’d gladly submit to any punishment ...
... But since that bravery and sacrifice only reduced the dormitory to this state and drove her friends into mortal peril ... have you thought of how Eun Young-ro must be feeling now? If you can fathom her feelings even the slightest bit, you ought to release even one more student. That ... is the least of what you owe the person who risked herself to save you.
