Although ‘Because I Love You’ (Sarang-hagi Ddaemun-e) never appears within the drama itself, it features prominently in two of the teaser trailers. While the tone of the teasers might be misleading to say the least, the lyrics reflect the brightest parts of the drama’s central romance nicely.
The song, originally by Yoo Jae-ha but first released in 1985 by Jo Yong-pil, is another much-beloved classic. Like much of the music in Snowdrop, it has since been covered by countless other artists on a variety of popular music programs, including once by Jisoo’s fellow BLACKPINK member, Rosé.

*n.b. This is tricky to translate. Literally, the lyrics are: ‘Because I only continue to grow smaller | Towards (in the direction of) the great (as in ‘large in size’) you.’ In this case, though, ‘great’ can either be interpreted to mean the ‘size’ of the other person’s existence in the singer’s life, or it can mean ‘large’ in the sense of ‘the bigger person.’
