I first noticed Dorys holding this leaflet, but I’ve since spotted it in at least five other people’s hands. Doubtless there are more, since the texts that appear in FFXVI tend to appear over and over again. As these things go, this is actually one of the more legible ones, which made it easier to decipher. I like how they give us little windows into the wider world of Valisthea, although this one seems to be more about crystal regulation than archaeology.
Through a series of ingenious experiments the Archaeological Department of the Most Illustrious University of Kanver has discovered that the depth and manner of interment of many a “Fallen” ruin is consistent with a plummet from a height far above that of the top of Belenus Tor. Proof that the Fallen fell, and what a way!
A reminder that trade in crystals is strictly prohibited. The Mothercrystal’s Blessing belongs to all, and is administered by the State for the good of her people. Any man finding himself in shortage or surfeit of stone or shard should apply to his lord or local constabulary for return or resupply. Note well that a crystal’s security is the sole responsibility of its registered owner, and no recompense shall be offered in the event of loss or destruction due to misuse or neglect on his behalf, nor shall any shard be supplied to an individual or community whose taxes are in arrears.
